Report Noxious Weeds

The Kittitas County Noxious Weed Control Board is an independent board responsible for the prevention of noxious weed infestation in Kittitas County. The City has an interlocal agreement with the Weed Control Board to provide weed control services and monitoring in the City public rights of way and non-park areas of City properties.

City staff perform this work on City property and in parks. The Washington State Weed Board and the Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) work with the activated weed boards to carry out the state weed laws (Chapter 17.10 RCW Noxious Weeds - Control Boards). Each of these weed control laws assigns primary responsibility for noxious weed control to the landowner - whether it is private, state or county lands. Controlling noxious weeds is a cooperative task, and it takes the effort of all landowners. It is the responsibility of the weed board to ensure weed control meets minimum standards.
