On an annual basis, the Ellensburg Police Department will administer the Police-Community Interaction Survey, with additional public interest questions, for the community of Ellensburg to complete. To ensure accessibility, the survey is provided in both paper and electronic form, in both English and Spanish, for a month duration. All responses are kept anonymous and aggregated together to produce an annual report used to support the Ellensburg Police Department’s service to the community of Ellensburg.
Survey Background
The Police-Community Interaction Survey is a sophisticated “satisfaction survey” developed as part of the National Police Research Platform that allows the public to evaluate recent interactions with local police. The goals of the Police-Community Interaction Survey are to enhance professionalism and strengthen public trust in police by serving as a transparent mechanism for community input. Police-Community Interaction Survey data can be used to generate measured benchmarks for excellence in policing and to understand the factors affecting police-community interactions.
