The mission of the Ellensburg Business Development Authority is to strategically recruit and support businesses; and to connect businesses to resources so they can start, grow, and prosper.

On the way to everywhere, Ellensburg has excellent access to major transportation systems, ready-built public utility services, and a workforce of skilled and unskilled laborers who are job ready. The small town feel and quality of life attract many people to Ellensburg.
LOCATION. Just under two hours from Seattle and less than three hours from Spokane, Ellensburg is strategically located in the center of Washington State.
MINIMAL LICENSING/PERMITS. To start a business in Ellensburg, you will apply for an Ellensburg Business License.
LOW TAXATION. Ellensburg’s sales/use tax rate is lower than the average rate of other Washington cities.
INCENTIVES. Washington State Department of Revenue offers many tax incentives for businesses.

WHAT EBDA CAN OFFER:
BUSINESS INCUBATOR. A 10,000 SF building designed to support up to 7 light industrial businesses. Building occupants are either start-up businesses or those businesses going through business expansion.
LIGHT INDUSTRIAL BUILDING SPACE. The 9,000 SF light industrial building is located near the Ellensburg Airport. The building has four bays, easy access to the freeway (I-90), high speed internet, and full utilities.
BUSINESS RESOURCES. To aid with your success, we have available a range of support resources. From understanding financials to marketing to business planning and more, we offer the expertise to lend you a hand in a meaningful way.
Ellensburg has a ready-to-work labor market. Residents of Ellensburg are well educated (above Washington’s average), live in safe neighborhoods (Ellensburg’s crime index is below the U.S. average), and the community is experiencing economic growth as indicated by the high number of permits issued in recent times.

BUSINESS INCUBATION. The EBDA Business Incubator offers business startups and expanding business guidance and resources for success. Conceived and built in 1988, the 10,000 SF building houses five individual bays designated for light industrial manufacturing. Tenants pay a reduced rent, share office equipment, and can avail themselves of technical and business assistance services.
LIGHT INDUSTRIAL. The Airport Business Park has four units available for light industrial manufacturing.
REVITALIZATION. The City of Ellensburg created the EBDA over twenty years ago. In partnership with the Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce, Ellensburg Downtown Association, Central Washington University, and others, the EBDA plays a lead role in retaining, promoting, and supporting economic revitalization in Ellensburg.
