Domestic Violence
General Information

In 2013, the Ellensburg Police Department responded to 384 domestic violence calls. Domestic violence is a title added to any number of crimes such as:
  • Assault
  • Kidnapping
  • Harassment
  • Malicious mischief
  • Rape
  • Stalking

If someone victimizes a blood relative, someone related by marriage, or someone they reside with, the incident is considered domestic violence. Domestic violence is widespread and not limited to sex, race, or socioeconomic levels.

Mission

No one deserves to be beaten or threatened and no one should have to live with that fear.
The Ellensburg Police Department is committed to effectively responding to domestic violence calls, holding the offender accountable for their criminal acts, providing resources to victims, and working in coordination with our partners to find meaningful ways of dealing with domestic and family violence.
