Thank you for considering employment with the City of Ellensburg. The following information is provided to assist you in understanding our employment process. Please read it carefully before completing the job application.
Job Announcement:
For each position advertised, a job announcement is provided. This lists the nature of the work, examples of duties, salary range, hours and required training and experience. Please read the announcement to see that you meet the minimum qualifications before completing the job application.
Employment Application:
This application is required for all City job openings. Applicants should attach resumes or any other information that will assist us in the selection process. A separate application is required for each job opening you wish to apply for. Applicant paperwork is reviewed for completeness and candidates are selected to continue in the process based on a match of job-related qualifications. Please note that we do not accept:
- Resumes only (without a completed job application).
- Job applications for a position for which there is no current opening.
- Incomplete or late applications.
Selection Procedures:
- We do not require testing for every job opening. The decision to test depends on a variety of factors including the complexity of the position and the number of applications received.
- We respond by mail or phone to every applicant. Every effort will be made to notify applicants selected for a test or interview within ten (10) working days of the closing date. Applicants not selected to continue in the process will be notified by mail as soon as possible.
- Following interviews, finalist candidates are required to provide three (3) references. We will not check references without first notifying the finalist candidate(s).
- The City of Ellensburg is an equal opportunity employer. The Human Resources Office is responsible for the recruitment and retention of a professional, productive and diverse work force. Our concern is that the process is as fair as possible and that each applicant be given equal opportunity for employment.
